Charles Thomson.-Died on Monday eve the 16th. at his residence in Lower
Merion township, the venerable patriot Charles Thomson Esq., in the 95th
year of his age. Farewell thou hoary headed patriot and sage! A great
nation will truly feel thy loss. A few years more and all your contemporaries
will be mingled with the dust. But their memories should be the theme of
gratitude for ages yet unborn.-Norristown Herald, August 25, 1824.
[Formerly Secretary of Congress.]
