Commonwealth vs. Isaiah Dunmire,
Saml. McCullough, pros. Assault and bat-
tery. Jury called who find defendent
guilty. Sentenced to pay a fine of ten dol-
ars and costs.
Same vs. Henry Lightcap. Eliza. Reed,
pros. Assault and battery. Jury find de-
fendant not guilty, and the defendent to
pay two-thirds and the prosecutor, Frank
Howard, to pay one-third the costs.
Same vs. A. R. Mott. Selling liquor
without a license. Return of Constable of
Indiana borough. True bill. Continued.
Same vs. Joseph Anderson. Selling
liquor without a license. Annie E. Myers,
Mrs. K. M. Sterrett, T. J. Hart, M. S. Wag-
oner and Ada Whigham pros. True bill. ---

Same vs. D. Wheeler. Selling liquor
without a license. Wm. Hileman, pros.---
True bill. Continued.
Same vs. Peter Oaks. Assault and bat-
tery. David M. Craig, pros. Jury called
and find defendant not guilty, and costs
divided between plaintiff and defendant.
Same vs. Solomon Dunmire and Isaiah
Dunmire. Surety of the peace. Samuel
McCullough, pros. Court sentenced the
prosecutor and defendants to pay one-half
the costs each.
Same vs. James L. Crawford. Indidt-
ment. Ist count, rape; 2d count, assault
with attempt to commit rape. Maggie En-
glish pros. Jury called who find defend-
and guilty on the second count. Motion for a
new trial by defendant--argument set aside
for the adjourned court, commencing on
the 31st of October. The finding of the jury
was almost in direct opposition to the
charge of the court, and there is little doubt
the motion for a new trial will be granted.
Same vs. Henry Lightcap. Surety of the
peace, Mary Lightcap, pros. The Court
sentenced and adjourned that Henry Light-
cap be committed to the House of Refuge
for Western Pennsylvania.
Same vs. Daniel Sweitzer. Surety of the
peace. Court sentence to give security for
his good behavior for two yers, and to pay
the costs.
Same vs. John A. Wineberry. Indict-
ment for cutting White Pine timber trees.
Abraham Earhart, pros. Jury called who
find defendant not guilty, and prosecutor
to pay costs.
Same vs. Samuel M. Snyder. Assault
and battery. Keziah Snyder, pros. True
bill. Settled. Same vs. S. T. Mauk. Fornication and
bastardy. Nancy J. Knox, pros. Not a
true bill, and prosecutor to pay the costs.
Same vs. Robert Sanford. Selling liquor
to minors. Presented by grand jury. True
bill. Continued.

Same vs. Lobert Lambig. Assault and
battery. Settled.
Same vs. Susan McCaffrey. Throwing
down fences. Settled.
In the matter of the petition of Conrad
Sylvis, S. M. Barr, Saml. Gilhouser and
Lewis Decker citizens and tax-payers of
Grant tp., appealing from the assessment of
said township, the court order and direct
that John Rowley, the collector, be re-
strained from the collection of the tax with-
in stated, as charged in the duplicate against
the above named persons, and that the col-
lector aforesaid is hereby directed to desist
from the sale of the property of the above
named persons, now levied on, and a Rule
on the supervisors of Grant tp., and John
Rowley, collector, to appear the first day of
next term, and abide the order of the court.
So court adjourned to meet on the 31st of
October, at 2 o'clock p. m.
