[The following obituary notices of officers and privates who
served in the Continental Line and Militia of Pennsylvania during
the Revolution have been collected from the newspapers of Montgomery
county.]

Jacob Sorver.-Departed this life at his residence in Skippackville
on the 24th. ult. Mr. Jacob Sorver aged 91 years. The deceased was
one of those who perilled his life in the time that tried men's souls,
in behalf of the liberties we now enjoy. His kindness and affability of
character secured him the regard of an extensive acquaintance, who
through a long series of years, have enjoyed his friendship and esteem.
A period of about forty years have elapsed since his settlement in that
neighborhood.
