TONKAY, WILLIAM McKINLEY- Son of John and Mary Tonkay, enlisted Sept. 1, 1917. Went to the 2nd Officers' Training School at Fort Oglethorpe. Was commissioned 1st Lieutenant. He was attached to Company H, 7lh Infantry. Sailed overseas April 24, 1918. Was wounded July 18th at Chateau Thierry and in the hospital 3 months. Returned to the United States August 22. 1919 holding rank of Captain
