WILLIAM STARES

STARES, WILLIAM-Son Of F. G. and Mary Stares. Entered service Sept. 17, 1917, and was assigned to Camp Lee, transferred to Camp Greene and sailed for France in March 1918. Was wounded in action on Oct. 12, 1918, and died on Oct. 19, 1918; buried in France. Was the only soldier from Herminie to make the supreme sacrifice.
