NEWMAN, JOHN-Son of Mrs. M. L. Nickens, entered service Aug. 3, 1918, was assigned to Camp Custer, later to Camp Grant and attached to Company I. 803rd Infantry, 92nd Division. Went overseas Sept. 17, 1918, returned July 29, 1919 and honorably discharged Aug. 3, 1919 with the rank of Sergeant.
