BATES, WALTER S.-Son of Eugene Bates. He entered service June 9, 1917. Assigned to Camp Matter -ton and later Dix, and was attached to the Ordnance Dept. Sergeant Bates went overseas Aug. 4, 1917, returned May 5, 3 919 and was nonorably discharged May 28, 1919.
