BACKUS, FRANCIS J.-Son of Mrs. Margaret Backus. Entered service Oct. 6, 1917, and assigned to 3rd Construction Company, Air Service. Sailed March 16, 1918, and returned Dec. 4, 1918. He was honorably discharged Dec. 15, 1918, at Garden City, N. Y.
