BIRK, PHILIP J.-Son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Birk. Entered service Sept. 22, 1917, and was assigned to Headquarters, Company 325 Regiment, 82nd Division, Camp Lee. Later assigned to Camp Gordon and sailed April 22, 1918. Took part in the battles of St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne. Returned from overseas May 18, 1919, and discharged ten days later.
